PUBLISHED ON THE WHITE WREN
Kristen and I shared an immediate connection: a deep love for The University of Alabama, our alma mater. Though years may separate our graduating classes, that legacy and loyalty transcends time. Our first meeting in person was at the stunning Conrad Nashville hotel, during a site visit and tasting with her planner, Jayne Bubis Events. Months later, on a perfect autumn afternoon, we captured the magic of Kristen’s bridal portraits at Cheekwood Estate and Gardens. The golden light painted the scene with an ethereal glow. And, the week before her wedding, Kristen kindly agreed to model for a commercial lifestyle fashion shoot I was photographing to be published in WWD. You can see those images here. I enjoyed having several opportunities getting to know Kristen and having her in front of my camera for the wedding day.
Finally, her long awaited day arrived! The sun shone brightly on what promised to be a perfect wedding Saturday in Nashville. Kristen began her morning at her parents’ home in Nashville, surrounded by her family and bridesmaids, who looked elegant in their champagne Amsale dresses with varied silhouettes. Kristen herself wore a custom gown by the talented Nashville designer Olia Zavozina, paired with classic Manolo Blahnik heels. (We’re sure SJP would approve!) Meanwhile, Jacoby donned a custom tuxedo and Christian Louboutin black velvet slippers, joining his groomsmen at the Conrad Nashville in anticipation of the day’s events.
Their first look on the 34th floor was a beautiful moment filled with emotion, followed by lovely portraits of the wedding party and family on the green space outside the hotel. The golden hour ceremony, held on the rooftop of Conrad Nashville, was brimming with joy and anticipation for the joyful celebration to come.
The seated dinner reception inside the ballroom was a feast for the senses, featuring an incredible floral display, sparkling crystal chandeliers, and a long head table where the newlyweds toasted, laughed, and dined with their loved ones. The night culminated in a lively dance party, ending with a celebratory exit through Alabama shakers.
Congratulations again to this beautiful couple! I had the best time documenting your story. May your life together be filled with as much love, laughter, and joy as your wedding day. Best wishes and Roll Tide!
