Abbie and Leo met while working in Washington D.C. He works on Capitol Hill, so it was a perfect choice for them to wed the week of Independence Day with views of the Capitol dome from the Waldorf Astoria, where the celebration was held.
The night before, the couple welcomed friends and family, from stateside and abroad, to join them for cocktails and light bites at The Capitol Hill Club. On Saturday, Abbie chose a palette of regal blue and white in keeping with the aesthetic of the Waldorf. She wore two gowns by Anne Barge, a strapless jacquard dress for most of the day, then changed into another formal look — a soft mikado trumpet gown and long white gloves for dinner and dancing. The day was flawlessly planned by TOAST Events and ended with The Fabulous Equinox Orchestra horns second line procession as guests waved American flags to send the couple off for their honeymoon.
